Included here is a sampling of works on display in the gallery (the full inventory of paintings for sale are not shown). Russell's landscapes allow him the freedom to experiment with the purely organic forms of nature. He is particularly inspired by French ‘Barbizon’ painters who worked directly from nature while creating a poetic style infused with an atmosphere and expression that remains unrivaled. Russell's scenes are likewise done on location (‘plein-air’) with minor adjustments in studio from memory and imagination. (Unlike most others he does not work from photos.)
